Brush Edit

Are you still applying makeup with your hands? Truth be told, applying certain textures and formulas with your fingers is the way forward. However, there are some products that you just cannot use without an appropriate makeup brush.

Base

Theres a few brushes that I repeatadly reach for in my kit when it comes to applying foundation. The B Beauty by Superdrug Blending Brush has densely packed bristles and a flat top perfect for achieving and even base and at a great price too! At least 50% of the brushes I own are Real Techniques, their Expert Face Brush is a no-brainer when it comes to perfecting your complexion. Lastly, my go-to foundation brush is the ZOEVA Face Shape. A smaller, densely packed rounded brush that is perfect for blending foundation in all areas of the face.

Powders

For setting translucent powders I prefer a smaller fluffy brush so I can be precise about its appliction. The EcoTools Controlled Setting brush does just that. EcoTools make some great brushes and their Precision Blush Brush is my current favourite for bronzer. Its tapered shape sits perfectly on the angle of the cheek bone. For blushes I reach for a fluffy angled brush such as the B Beauty Contour.

Eyes

I carry so many brushes for use on and around the eyes, its hard to decide what is the best, but you can never go wrong with a Real Techniques Deluxe Crease or Base Shadow. Both the perfect shape for blending out your eyeshadow for a seamless finish.

If you have absolutely no idea where to start, don't worry! Some of the brands I've mentioned have put together some fabulous brush sets that are a great starting point if you are new to makeup, or just need to replace brushes you've had for years! They include all the essentials and buying them as a set means you save money too!
