Earlier this year i was invited into a local school to teach makeup lessons to year 11 students. During the two hour sessions I taught the students how to create two makeup looks.
The first was a “school appropriate” look that would fit in with their schools policy on makeup wearing. It would be quick and easy to create on a morning but still give them the confidence to own the day! The second look was a deep smokey prom look with a glowing complexion! Makeup has no gender and it was a pleasure to teach some girls and guys! I had some fabulous models and received some great feedback.
As much as some want to discourage teens and their excessive makeup habits. It’s important to give them education about skincare and makeup to allow them to still enjoy it! After all, makeup is an art, an expression and part of identity that many of us negotiate with.
Looking forward to doing more of these in the future!
